It all started with a Garage and Bake Sale I organized for War Child, a non-profit dedicated to providing assistance to children affected by war. After a day of raising money, meeting fun folks, and eating yummy food I was left with a surplus of clothes. I donated almost everything to Wearable Collections, but kept all the jeans with an idea brewing.
I am involved with a variety of Non-Profits, all advocating for their cause and trying to facilitate change. The # 1 answer I get when asked ‘how can I help?’ is ‘FUNDRAISE, FUNDRAISE, FUNDRAISE’. Not so easy when your social network consists of mainly 20-somethings, struggling to pay their rent or figure out their next career move. So to entice this demographic along with others, I decided to provide incentive to donate by creating the don’t be a bum! campaign and it’s first lovechild, the TushCush.
Bottoms Up,
Emma Hacohen
